MOM CREW VETERAN DANCERS

Abby a New York native, has always had a love for dance. Her dance journey started at the age of 6 by training in classical ballet, tap, and jazz. Her first introduction to hip hop was growing up in Queens, New York seeing many of the street dancers pop, lock, and break.  More “formal” hip hop dance training did not start until college, where Abby obtained her Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering at Polytechnic University and later pursued her Master’s in Business Administration at St. Edward’s University in Austin. Always a lifelong learner, Abby continued her dance training for a short stint on the competitive ballroom circuit in Latin and Rhythm categories including Bachata, Salsa, Cha Cha, Rhumba, Tango, Merengue, and East Coast Swing. However, M.O.M. Crew brought Abby back to her first love – Hip Hop. When she is not dancing with her crewmates, Abby is a Director of Talent and Leadership in Human Resources and she leads a group that provides operational support for Employee Development, Leadership, Management, and Professional Development.  Luckily, she has a strong support structure with her family: hubby, Gary, and daughter, Olivia to keep her in line.

Leslie is married to her best friend, and works from home while homeschooling her two amazing kids ages 13 and 10.  She is trained in Tap, Ballet, Jazz and some clogging from ages 6-18. M.O.M. Mandye has been dancing since she was eight years old.  She danced throughout her school career, including college. She continued to study various forms of dance once she entered the working world. Once she had kids, dancing took a backseat to child rearing. She found Zumba after the birth of her second child and that fulfilled the need to dance. She became a certified Zumba instructor and has continued to gain accreditations in other dance fitness formats, including UJam, Dance It Out and Mixxedfit. A friend notified her about M.O.M. Crew auditions and she gave it a shot. She is a proud member of this incredible group of moms, dancers, professional employees, caregivers and friends. When she is not dancing with M.O.M. Crew, teaching dance fitness or chauffeuring children around town, she works as an occupational therapist in the school district. Mandye is married to a wonderful man named David and has two boys, Christopher (16) and Aaron (12).  She appreciates their continued encouragement and patience as she continues to pursue her passion.
